Essential Oil Dilution Instructions for Homemade Natural Cuticle Oil
Essential oils are highly concentrated in nature. To dilute them, add your favorite carrier oil to a 15 ml bottle. This process will allow oils to be absorbed into your skin without irritating it. I recommend diluting no more than 9 drops of essential oil per 15ml (3 teaspoons) of carrier oil.
Follow this Essential Oil Dilution Chart by Rocky Mountain Oils to learn how to safely dilute your favorite essential oils for topical use.
How to Make Your Own Homemade Natural Cuticle Oil for Strong Nails
You will need:
Step 1: Take an empty 15 ml essential oil bottle or old nail polish bottle that’s been washed out and dried. Combine 4 drops of tea tree essential oil and 5 drops of lavender essential oil inside the glass bottle. You can also add a few drops of Vitamin E if you desire.
Step 2: Using a dropper or syringe, add 3 teaspoons of olive oil to the bottle.
Step 3: Seal the cap tightly onto the bottle and lightly shake the bottle for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Apply the mixture to your nails 2-3 times per week to heal your cuticles and help your nails grow stronger.
Tips: You can create many different variations of this homemade cuticle oil using the essential oils and carriers mentioned earlier in this post. However, please always be sure to follow the essential oil dilution ratio from the chart above to prevent any skin irritation.
For the best results, use this homemade natural cuticle oil with your favorite moisturizing lotion to keep your nails and hands hydrated and soft.
